e-Weather Client is a software application that can be installed on a PC and automatically receive the current weather conditions of your town from various meteorological-weather reporting sites.
Therefore, that PC has to be connected to the Internet either with an Online connection (xDSL, Cable etc.) or by dial-up.
In the event of a dial-up connection the application automatically connects to the Internet, "downloads/receives" data regarding your town, from the weather sites and then (after a few seconds) automatically disconnects from the Internet.
How does it Work?
(Click on the pictures for a larger image)

After an automatic receive of the current weather data (from www.weather.com),
e-Weather Client generates two MP3 files. The first one includes a sound recording of the temperature of your town e.g. "The temperature now is 21 degrees" and the second one includes information on wind condition (direction and speed) e.g. "The winds are coming from Northwest, at 11 miles per hour".
You are free to choose between the female or male voice (click for a demo)!
These MP3 files may be generated in any system folder, either locally or in a network, with a filename specified by you e.g. "temperature.mp3", "wind.mp3".
These files are automatically updated and always include the current weather conditions.
Thus the only thing left, is for you to schedule your ON AIR software, to "play" those files any time you wish, and therefore automatically inform your listeners.
We also wanted to inform your RDS system with weather conditions! Thus e-Weather Client produces a file that you can feed it to your RDS System so your listeners can appreciate the current weather conditions on their radio displays!
Its configuration options allow you to choose between various methods of wind measuring, different temperature measurement units etc.
The software receives data on a regular basis according to your settings e.g every 15 minutes, by following the sequence mentioned below:
| |
If not already online, connects to the Internet...
Receives Weather conditions from the weather sites...
Generates the relevant MP3 files in the folder that you have specified...
Disconnects from the Internet...(in case of a Dial-up connection) |
It's clearly evident that DataMax's e-Weather Client is a useful "tool" since it informs your listeners on the weather conditions without any human intervention!
Of course, following an agreement, DataMax News gives you the option to customize the temperature and wind messages, and tailoring them to your needs.
